Experience Summary:
Director, Wireless Engineering
- Built and established Wireless Engineering Department, including personnel recruiting, interviewing and hiring. Wireless Engineering State of the Art Laboratory and Compliance Center, and developing wireless Engineering product qualification and development processes.
- Successfully released in a space of six months four variant of Vx610: a portable, battery-powered payment device. It uses the latest wireless technologies - Wi-Fi, CDMA, and GPRS. Also led the design and development effort of flagship SLIMLINE Vx670 products (Wi-Fi & GPRS) to be released this spring.
- Responsible for all Portable and Wireless Products, including, the complete design, development, validation and certification of wireless terminals and Base Stations, the evaluation of RF Modules for POS terminals, Embedded Low-level & Test APP SW design and development.
- Directed POS Common Platform design and development through to mass production: including, DFT, DFX, and DFM covering security (PCI PED, Visa and AMEX PED), EMC, EMI, ESD, and other environmental, temperature, humidity, mechanical shock and vibration tests and validation.
- Directly responsible for and providing leadership in ALL Product Life Cycle Tasks and Deliverables for portable and wireless product lines covering: Investigation, Vendors Product and Module Evaluation, Selection and Management, POS Design and Development, Product Certification, Supporting Supply Chain activities with CMs, R&D Field and Customer Beta Tests, Regional and worldwide wireless product launch and introduction, field technical support and training of regional Sales and Marketing and VIPs..
- Management of R&D activities of several OEMs, ODMs, and CMs in Taiwan and Mainland China.
- Conducting all Sustaining Engineering Activities, including Cost Reduction Design and Value Engineering, product Field Quality and Maintenance and Product customization.
- Participation in wireless product portfolio, with sole responsibility for Wireless Engineering Plan & Business Development (Technology and Product Roadmaps), Technical Sales and Marketing training.
