Experience Summary:
Electronics Technician
One of four Service Area Technicians with the primary responsibility of maintaining Land Mobile Radio systems across southern Colorado and western Kansas.
- Schedule and perform annual preventive maintenance on fixed station repeaters and base stations, and mobile and portable radios.
- Plan, prepare, and execute projects to improve the overall performance of the radio system and ensure facilities meet industry standards.
- Use a centralized trouble reporting system to manage maintenance and repair requests from users.
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions of base stations, repeaters, microwave, spread-spectrum, mobile, and portable radios.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems with leased line circuits, dispatch system consoles, base station tone remotes, fixed station and mobile antenna systems, and commercial and solar power systems.
- Provide user assistance and training on personal radios and radio system operations.
- Provide hands-on assistance for voice, network, and desktop support staff working remotely.
- Troubleshoot VoIP and legacy PBX telephone systems (Lucent/Avaya).
- Perform additions, moves, and changes for voice and network users, and ensure connectivity for end-user devices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve LAN and WAN connectivity problems, including Cisco® Aironet 350/1400 wireless bridges, switches and routers.
- Diagnose and resolve problems with voice and data network wiring.
- Install new wiring infrastructure when feasible.
