Business reshaping was centered on revised regional product and distribution strategies, focus on high-margin business, targeted operational and sourcing reductions and efficiencies, and a realignment of product life cycle expectations and investment.
  • Increased North America consulting services gross margin from 18% to 24%, with LBS/E911 services at 50% - above industry averages. Improved network services, Location Based Services (LBS) and E911 (Enhanced 911) business by focusing sales and business development on higher margin solutions, developing partner relationships, revising the delivery model to establish cost synergies across multiple solutions, and developing a business consulting approach with more complex and targeted ROI models and value propositions.
  • Managed VAR/OEM and technology partner program resulting in a 10% increase in software revenues, reduction of R&D costs, and improved time-to-market of an expanded portfolio. The product expansion and creation of an indirect distribution channel improved the ability to bundle and reach new markets more effectively.

  • Led and conducted the process of selling the wireless business unit leading to the acquisition by a major wireless vendor. Created internal buyer landscape and targeting strategy, wrote information memorandum and related materials, managed banker relationship, led buyer meetings, managed data room processes, etc.
  • Identified and remedied underperforming regions; one previously unknown to be financially underperforming and operating without proper business controls or adherence to corporate delegation of authority and Sarbanes-Oxley standards. Led internal and external audits to isolate process shortcomings and reconstruct financials. A $6M net loss was determined and actions were taken to swiftly revise organizational and commercial structures, and market strategy. The success of the project was recognized by leadership and the audit committee during a sensitive period for the company.
  • Led repositioning of business unit to pursue 3G and network optimization and system integration strategies. Managed all product and market aspects of the development and launch of a completely re-architected flagship software product line (radio network optimization, GIS, LBS) to more than 150 global customers. Developed an integrated product and service portfolio to improve cross-selling. Worked extensively on solutions for clients to achieve ROI within 6-12 months.
