COS Carrier Relations - Fixed Network Engineer - Test and Acceptance
Paired with Carrier Relations existing Network Engineer, we were responsible for end to end testing and acceptance of new circuits for the IT backbone network. This consisted of working with various circuit vendors to validate new DS and OC circuits being deployed as part of the T-Bone build. Upon validation of end to end connectivity we would subject the circuit to a battery of tests to ensure stability and data integrity on the new circuit. In the majority of cases the circuits would require advanced troubleshooting skills as well as working with the carriers to redesign bad circuits. A strong knowledge of cisco IOS, SONET, DWDM, TL1, and an assortment of other layer 1 and 2 skills were required. .
Network Engineer - Sr. SGSN Subject Matter Expert
Senior SME of a team of 4 responsible for implementation, support and administration of the Signaling GPRS Service Node for the GSM/GPRS data network. From acceptance of the initial single-shelf Nortel Passport 7000 solution, through the growth to 34 switches in a three shelf Passport 15000 solution. These nodes serve as an aggregation and authentication base for all of AT&T Wireless' 12 million data subscribers. Responsible for configuration and maintenance of 180 DS3 links fractionalized down to a 384k link level, along with both static and dynamic routing within the 3 shelf OC3 ring. Trained and mentored the other SGSN SME's and act as the Prime SME for new implementation on the SGSN platform.
