Network Optimization Designer

• Conduct planning with wireless and cable divisions to make the most efficient use of transmission resources, including capacity management, traffic planning, charactering and analyzing capacity utilization.
• Monitor transport capacity usage and provide input to engineering plans for network expansion/upgrades in timely manner to allow implementation to be within specification, on time and within budget.
• Engage in system design and network provisioning including analysis of switch interconnect circuits, tariffs, SONET Mux traffic routing, and DACS cross-connect assignment records, circuit mapping within various transmission equipment, such as Alcatel DACS, Lucent 5ESS switch, SONET/DWDM transport facilities, CISCO routers, Passport, New Bridge, etc.
• Proactively manage operational problems through to solution to ensure optimum utilization and performance of equipment and circuits.
• Serve as a contact point for the various Shaw business units, as well as outside carriers and customers.
• Create and maintain a capital budge for their area of responsibility.
