Experience Summary:
RF/Telecom Engineer
Chief architect for wireless elements of enterprise voice, data, and automation/SCADA networks. Introduced new wireless technologies, evolved telecommunications infrastructure to better serve the Company's business strategies. Designed custom wireless solutions and coordinated with vendors to develop products. Developed and managed departmental, organizational, and inter-organizational projects. Negotiated and managed telecommunications-related contracts, managed FCC licensing activities, and monitored state and federal regulatory developments.
Responsible for the routine administration of the RF-Wireless organization, including the planning and management of expense and capital budgets, recruitment, supervision, and mentoring of personnel, procurement & distribution of equipment and materials, and management of assets. Facilitated corporate acquisitions and divestitures. Coordinated PM programs and facilitated resolution of priority maintenance issues. Managed corporate relationship with service providers and vendors: represented Company among peers as the Chairman of the API Telecomm Committee and as a Director of ENTELEC, delivered technical presentations at various industry venues.
Drove initiative to deliver new services and technological improvements into the upstream environment. Principally responsible for the design, development, and adoption of field & mobile WLAN systems, LEO satellite technology, digital mux & microwave systems, and broadband VSAT systems by Exploration and Production. Introduced WLAN technology and Wireless Mobility improvements into the office environment. Optimized legacy field telecommunications systems and integrated into enterprise network. Responsible for the management of telecommunications projects as well as broader ITS projects.
Infrastructure within area of responsibility included field WLAN systems, office WLAN systems, SCADA/ radio telemetry systems (both SS & licensed), point to point microwave systems (both SS & licensed), voice radio systems, VSATs for LEO & geosynchronous satellite communications, personal wireless mobility, and a selection of other wireless systems. Regions of responsibility included North America onshore & offshore and International onshore & offshore.
