Responsibilities:

You will be managing and growing the firmware development teams for the next generation cameras, CEW devices and automatic activation platforms. You will be managing the full development lifecycle: analysis, design, development, testing and deployment for camera driver firmware, device firmware, middleware, and application modules. You need to have outstanding knowledge of embedded development & Real Time Operating Systems as well as stellar C programming skills. Great leadership and strategic curiosity are required.

Must Have Qualifications:

  • B.S. or higher degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 8+ years experience in designing and developing embedded software.
  • 5+ years experience leading teams of software engineers.
  • Significant programming experience in embedded C (with and without RTOS), embedded Linux, and Qualcomm SoC.
  • Experience with distributed teams.
  • Proven ability to recruit, hire and grow a team of high capability engineers to build connected devices.
  • Ability to drive change and create new processes from scratch.
  • Experience building telemetry and dashboards that drive quality & user engagement.
  • Emphasis on self-diagnostic code via robust fault detection, reporting, and recovery.
  • Rigorous approach to documentation and architecture design that considers requirements of mobile clients & SaaS software.
  • Experience integrating with electrical & mechanical team and suppliers to create a seamless end-to-end customer experience.
  • Passion for mentoring a variety of engineers and encouraging continuous education.
  • Passion for building automated test systems and partnering closely with QA team.

Desired Experience:

  • C#, Objective-C/Swift, C++, Java, Golang
  • Understanding of: kernel development, Android porting, threads, inter-process communications, and profiling.
  • Ability to read schematics and understand electronic circuitry.
  • Familiar in the following areas of firmware development: video, audio, power management.
  • Experience with computer vision and machine learning.
