Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced Vice President of Engineering to be a member of the Company’s senior management team, reporting to the COO. The VP Engineering is the lead executive for ensuring effective and compliant delivery for all engineering programs at the company. This person will oversee a global team responsible for executing advanced antenna system designs across multiple product platforms for Tier 1 Service Providers, OEM/ODMs, and chipset customers. He/she oversees the full life cycle of antenna development needed to support customer product development, from antenna concept and system performance validation to high volume production. This person will play a key role in the development of advanced antenna systems for established and emerging markets, working closely with sales, product marketing and operations in support of product strategy and roadmaps. The VP Engineering is responsible for managing both the team and the annual budget for the engineering department.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Executive management of the global engineering organization to ensure best in class antenna design and customer support
  • Continually improve and optimize engineering processes to ensure projects are delivered on–time to exacting customer expectations
  • Drive development efforts focused on growth in new products, cost reduction, and quality
  • Develop key metrics to track and manage performance
  • Define and lead technology roadmap process
  • Recruiting and mentoring industry leading engineering staff
  • Contribute to the development of the strategic business plan and work effectively to achieve planned goals/objectives

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience managing and growing a high performance, high volume, goal-driven engineering team
  • International experience with a focus in organizational design and effective delegation
  • Demonstrated experience in personnel management with experience managing and motivating remote engineering teams
  • Effective communication skills with cross-functional teams, both technical and non-technical, within a fast-paced, collaborative, innovative engineering environment
  • Industry experience with carrier customer premises equipment (CPE) a plus
  • Strong expertise of networking devices for in-home, enterprise, industrial and IoT markets a plus
  • Knowledge of antenna fundamentals and understanding of RF design fundamentals and communication systems, especially WLAN, Bluetooth, 802.15.4, and LTE

Education and Experience:

  • 15+ years of experience managing a high technology team in the field
  • BSEE in electrical engineering, advanced degree such as MSEE or MBA desired or equivalent experience
