New Job Opportunity: Sr. SW Quality Engineer – Detroit, MI

Position Summary:

Member of the quality organization within NA (No. America) programs (Software focused with understanding of Hardware, Manufacturing) and ensure adherence to Company’s BMS PLM processes within the NA programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute the Quality plan in accordance with organizational BMS and ASPICE standards for large programs
  • Plan and schedule cross functional activities worldwide in different regions such as maturity level reviews, preparation for customer audits, etc.
  • Represent the interface to Quality Leader at customer side and work closely with customer interfaces in Quality and Engineering
  • Manage, execute and track quality activities in projects to achieve targets for time, cost and quality; in case of deviations drive escalations at different levels internal and external and track to closure.
  • Report program health status regularly to different internal and external management levels.
  • Coordinate quality impacting decisions and / or escalations on program side between all parties
  • Drive the organization at the Company and customer, together with the quality counterpart at customer, to achieve high quality software during development up to serial phase.
  • Coordinate and assure Company quality requirements to customer.
  • Conduct scheduled reviews with the appropriate process owners.
  • Implement quality gates for any/all deliverables that go to customer
  • Review all appropriate documentations, processes & results applicable, related to projects and if needed organize audits to get a visibility about the status.
  • Ensure that PLM processes lessons learned and best practices are understood and effective in practice.
  • Maintain and understand all internal and external requirements.
  • Address audit findings and assure proper action plans.
  • Set up, track and analyze metrics to come up with action items to fix gaps
  • Collaboration with other regional quality teams and global teams to ensure process adherence across organization
  • Contribute towards organizational process definition/updates

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering related field.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in Automotive Quality and Program Management in similar programs
  • High level of understanding of Software development lifecycle and methodologies
  • Experience in leading customer escalations
  • Thorough knowledge of management systems, at least one of CMMi or Automotive Spice. Other standards such as ISO/TS16949 are desirable
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Drive for Results, Team Player, Change Orientation, Customer Focus, Self Awareness
  • Seasoned professional in previous roles as a PM, Developer or Tester.
  • PMP Certified

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be willing to travel 25% of the time.
  • Willingness to work in an office
  • Willingness to submit to a background screen and a drug test
