Information Technology Department - Electronics Technician I

• Install and maintain emergency communications equipment for vehicles in the Police and Fire departments. (Patrol cars/bikes, Fire Command Vehicles, and  Fire Engines)
• Install and maintain conventional mobile communications equipment for all other city department vehicles. (School busses, Waterworks, Public Utilities, etc.)
• Interface Fire and Police mobile data equipment with the Emergency Dispatch server and ensure proper function and security.
• Responsible for the custom installation of covert sirens into various undercover vehicles. Also responsible for custom installations of GPS tracking, camera, and microphone into 'Bait Car' for Police Dept.
• Log and report all services and completed jobs. Report inventory parts used. Make any necessary changes in the mobile communications database.
• Assist in the maintenance of the equipment located at the microwave antenna sites throughout the city and all emergency dispatch equipment located at the fire stations.
