1. Why are you called “Electronic Search”? Does it mean that you do all your recruiting by searching the web?

No. This is a common misunderstanding, one we could not have foreseen when our company was first named. We are called “Electronic Search” because in 1978 when our firm began, we specialized in placing Electronics Technicians, and we are a “Search Firm,” hence the name “Electronic Search.”

2. What type of positions do you fill?

We fill technical positions such as Engineer, Developer, Architect, Technician, etc. We also fill Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Pre-Sales and Post-Sales, Product Management, Project Management, etc. We fill all executive level positions such as Director, VP, CEO, CTO, CFO, etc.

3. What Services do you offer to employers?

We offer 4 types of recruiting service, to meet the varied needs of our clients. Our 4 service options are Retained SearchContingency SearchContract Staffing, and Customized Staffing Services. These programs cover every type of staffing need, from temporary technical personnel to senior executive staff, and from lab engineers to sales staff. Visit the “Our Services” section of this site to learn more about these programs.

4. What will happen if I engage ESI?

First you will be contacted by a Business Development Representative, who will answer all of your questions regarding our service, and help you determine which of our services is right for your unique hiring needs. Terms of business and process are always decided before recruitment begins, so as to prevent any hang-ups in the final stages of hiring. It is important to us that we are officially approved as a recruiting agency for your company before we engage our services. Once terms are in place, you will be introduced to an Account Manager who will be your designated contact and single point of contact throughout the recruitment process. The Account Manager will be the person who interviews all the candidates we submit to you, so it is very important that this person “get inside your head,” to understand your needs as closely as possible. As a first step, your Account Manager will set up a time to speak with you for 15-30 minutes to gather information relating to the positions you need to fill, your company, your hiring process, and other specifics. Once we have this information, it will be distributed to the Recruiting Staff at Electronic Search, Inc., who will also help recruit and screen candidates for your Account Manager. The position will also be posted on our corporate homepage at this point, unless confidentiality is a factor. As our internal recruiting machine goes to work, your Account Manager will screen all candidates before submitting them to you, asking them about their technical expertise, salary information, and career history.

Your Account Manager will submit only the top few candidates we find to you. You will never be inundated with resumes that do not fit the position you are intending to fill. Since each resume submission entails a large amount of preparation and forethought, it is appropriate to provide timely feedback for each resume submission, and to stay in touch with your Account Manager, letting him/her know if any changes have occurred in your needs. When there is a good relationship between the employer and the ESI Account Manager, it guarantees that you will get the most out of our service, and meet your hiring goals as quickly as possible.

5. How do your recruiters find candidates?

When you hire Electronic Search, Inc. to fill a position, we may recruit from many sources, including (but not limited to):

6. How much does it cost to post a job on your website?

Website posting is free if you engage us on a Retained or Contingency search.

7. How are your recruiters trained?

Each recruiter, no matter their background, receives specialized training when they come to Electronic Search. We follow the methods of veteran trainer Tony Byrne, and we have also expanded on these methods and developed unique procedures for recruitment that are known in the industry as very thorough. Our recruiters also receive constant mentoring from our senior executive staff. Our recruiters also study technology trends and keep up with technical breakthroughs in their fields. 8. Do you conduct background and reference checks of the candidates you place?

Yes. ESI reference checks all candidates when they have passed the 1st interview with the employer, and we also do background checks when requested.

9. When we hire you, will a bunch of your recruiters call me all the time?

No. Only one person will call you, some of the time. A single point of contact will be selected as your Account Rep.

10. How soon can I expect to see candidates?

Everyone wants results, and at Electronic Search we like to move fast to achieve those results. We will submit candidates as soon as we find them, and often you will receive the first submission the very next day. However, if your search is extremely difficult, we may need to do some real digging, and interview dozens of candidates before we find one that’s good enough to send you. In any case, let your Account Representative know if you have a deadline to fill your positions. We will structure our process to fit your needs, so that when you are ready to do interviews, we have candidates ready.
