Company Description:

Our client is a Public Safety Communications Systems Integrator that designs and delivers communications solutions for government agencies, educational institutions, and commercial enterprises. They have been in business for nearly 50 years, are growing and are financially strong.

We are looking for a VP of Sales who is both strategic and tactical to lead the sales team to successfully meet or exceed bookings and margin quotas.

This is also an opportunity for a VP Sales with fresh ideas to influence this company’s offerings and Go-To-Market approach.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of sales professionals to achieve an annual sales target, meeting or exceeding revenue and margin targets.
  • Drive new customer acquisition and expand existing accounts.
  • Oversee complex sales cycles for integrated public safety communication systems.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans with clear win themes aligned with company goals.
  • Collaborate across departments including engineering, program management, service, and delivery.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key public sector decision-makers.
  • Influence product and solution marketing and partnership development to optimize our client’s position in the market.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 15+ years of progressive sales experience with 5+ years of Sr. Director or VP-level leadership experience.
  • Successful track record selling integrated solutions (hardware, software, services) to state and local government agencies.
  • Proven expertise winning competitive State and Local government procurement awards.
  • Demonstrated success selling specifically to public safety agencies.
  • Experience building high-performance sales teams in geographically distributed environments.
  • An understanding of land mobile radio systems, ideally P25 systems, with additional experience selling any of the following:
  • Body-worn camera solutions that support documentation, evidence capture, and officer accountability
  • Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems for emergency call management, resource allocation, and real-time incident coordination
  • Records Management Systems (RMS) designed for law enforcement data management including crime reports, evidence tracking, and investigative information
  • Vehicle-based communications and video systems including in-car terminals, private LTE, mobile applications, and license plate recognition technology
  • Connectivity, monitoring, and security solutions that integrate dispatch, field operations, and backend systems
