Company Description:

Our client offers an opportunity for you to bring your structural steel design experience to a rapidly growing company. They design and manufacture utility and telecommunication structures at the same facility to improve their understanding and bring innovation to the design of their structures.

Position Summary:

Perform structural analysis and design of new utility and/or telecommunication structures while exercising discretion and independent judgement. This position will focus on using common engineering practices along with analysis software to design efficient structures in these two recession proof industries. Structure designs include, but not limited to, telecommunication and transmission poles, lattice towers, electrical substation steel support structures, and small cell/5G structures, along with related components.

Required Skills and Qualification:

  • A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (an emphasis in structural engineering is preferred),
  • Ability to determine structural capacities of common structural steel shapes using AISC,
  • Analyze and design bolted and welded connections using AISC,
  • Ability to review Geotech reports and design concrete foundations using ACI 318,
  • Determine base reactions of structures based on wind & seismic forces per ASCE 7,
  • Knowledgeable in local and national codes and industry standards such as ASCE 7, IBC, ANSI/TIA-222, ASCE 48, NESC 2017, ASCE/MRE 113, etc.,
  • Being detail oriented with the ability to multi‐task, work in fast paced environment, and complete project(s) in a timely
  • Experience in structural analysis of steel

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in civil engineering,
  • Professional Engineer license (PE) in the states of OR, WA, CA, ID, and AZ,
  • Experience with FEA software such as PLS-POLE, Risa3D, tnxTower, MFAD, ,
  • Experience reviewing and approving structural drawings in conformance with your design,
  • Ability to advise and make recommendations to customers as necessary about their structure and its ability to meet the requirements of current industry standards and codes,
  • Possess the ability to think outside the box, and willingness to offer
