1. Why are you called “Electronic Search”? Does it mean that you do all your recruiting by searching the web?

No. This is a common misunderstanding, one we could not have foreseen when our company was first named. We are called “Electronic Search” because in 1978 when our firm began, we specialized in placing Electronics Technicians, and we are a “Search Firm,” hence the name “Electronic Search.”

2. Is a Search Firm the same as an Employment Agency?

Not exactly. Electronic Search provides recruitment services to employers who need to fill specific jobs. Because our clients determine which positions we work on at any given time, we do not always have the same positions available. An employment agency is specifically set up to find jobs for unemployed people, and may have jobs in a wider range of industries, as opposed to the niche industries a search firm has chosen to work in.

3. Do I have to talk to many different recruiters in order to apply for different opportunities?

No. When you send your information to us, it is assigned to one recruiter who will be your representative if you are submitted to any one of our available jobs. You may be contacted by a Recruiting Assistant who will get some preliminary information from you, but after that you will have only one point of contact.

4. I do not want anyone to know I am looking for a position. Can I expect your Recruiters to keep my information confidential?

Absolutely. We will never disclose your name, current company, or contact information without your consent.

5. Do you offer entry-level employment, mid-career, or senior level?

We offer junior level through senior level positions, but very rarely do we offer entry-level.

6. What types of companies do you recruit for?

We recruit for all types of companies, from Fortune 50 to start-ups. Some of our clients are technology companies who specifically offer wireless products; others are leaders in other industries, such as retail, automotive, management consulting, health care, etc., who simply need help finding people for one of their technical divisions.

7. What benefits do you offer to job seekers?

Our recruiters act as employment consultants to candidates they are working with, providing guidance through every step of the hiring process, from interview to offer. They can make sure your resume looks clean and professional, provide interview tips for a particular company or individual, and guide you through the interview process, negotiating the best offer for you.

Beyond that, we offer passive job seekers the chance to be on the cutting edge of the technical hiring scene, and we will watch for good opportunities that may come along. Our service to job seekers is fully automated; you can log onto our website and update your resume electronically, or browse opportunities any time you want through our job search engine.

8. What happens when I apply for a job through your company?

First, your application comes to our reception area, where it is forwarded immediately to your Account Manager. The Account Manager will usually ask a Research Assistant to get in touch with you right away. The Research Assistant will ask you a few questions, in order to determine your qualifications for many possible opportunities. Then the Research Assistant will forward your resume, along with some added information, to the Account Manager.

If the Account Manager believes you are a match for the position you have applied for, he or she will call you to discuss the job in more detail. If you agree to be submitted, your resume will be sent along with a professional presentation of your background and qualifications, written by the Account Manager. Hereafter, your Account Manager will be in touch with you on a consistent basis to let you know of any developments. If the employer wishes to interview you, your Account Manager will set this up with you. If the employer is not interested, however, your profile and resume will still remain in our database for future opportunities.

9. Are there any fees involved for job seekers?

All services to job seekers are completely free. The employer pays all fees related to recruitment.

10. How can I make sure my resume will be seen by all your recruiters, and considered for all your current opportunities?

All the resumes we receive are retained in our database, where they can be seen by all our recruiters. The best way to make sure you will be considered for all our opportunities is to stay on our email mailing list, and make sure we have all your contact information on file.

11. What if I want to refer a friend for one of your job opportunities?

Electronic Search, Inc. gladly accepts referrals, but it is not our policy to pay referral fees to other job seekers or corporations, unless previously specified in writing.

12. What type of relationships do you have with the clients you work with?

We have signed agency agreements with all of our clients; what that means is, whether you apply for a contract, contract-to-hire, or direct-hire position, you can rest assured that the client will regard your resume as an official submission from an approved agency. Other recruiting firms might send your resume in to a company where they do not have an existing relationship and signed recruiting agreements. While they may see this as being pro-active, it may hurt your chances of being interviewed by the company, because many large corporations have preferred vendor lists. You can always inquire about our relationships with our clients, and we will be happy to answer any questions.
