Job Description:
The Director of National Sales is a strategic and results-oriented leader responsible for developing and executing the national sales strategy to achieve ambitious growth targets. This role involves leading and managing Regional Sales Managers, cultivating strong customer relationships, and leveraging data-driven insights to optimize sales performance. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of success in national or regional sales management, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of sales processes and market dynamics.
Responsibilities:
Develop and Implement National Sales Strategy:
Identify key target markets and customer segments across the nation.
Conduct thorough market research to understand customer needs, competitive landscape, and emerging trends.
Develop comprehensive national sales plans and strategies for market penetration.
Translate the national sales strategy into actionable plans for regional and territory sales teams.
Manage and Lead Sales Teams:
Recruit, onboard, and train high-performing sales representatives and regional sales managers.
Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to the sales team.
Set clear performance expectations, monitor individual and team progress, and provide constructive feedback.
Foster a positive, collaborative, and results-oriented sales culture.
Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
Set and Track Sales Goals:
Establish annual and periodic sales quotas for regions, territories, and individual sales representatives.
Develop accurate sales volume and profit projections.
Implement effective tracking mechanisms to monitor sales performance against targets.
Analyze sales reports and dashboards to identify areas for improvement and adjust strategies as needed.
Build and Maintain Customer Relationships:
Identify and cultivate strong relationships with key national accounts and strategic partners.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention through proactive communication and problem-solving.
Collaborate with the customer service team to ensure seamless customer experiences.
Represent the company professionally in customer interactions and industry events.
Analyze Sales Data:
Utilize CRM and other sales analytics tools to gather, analyze, and interpret sales data.
Identify key trends, opportunities, and challenges in sales performance.
Develop data-driven insights to inform strategic decision-making and optimize sales strategies.
Prepare and present sales reports and forecasts to senior management.
Ensure Compliance:
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards related to sales activities.
Stay informed about and ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and legal requirements.
Collaborate with Other Departments:
Work closely and collaboratively with marketing to align sales and marketing campaigns and ensure consistent messaging.
Partner with product development to provide market feedback and contribute to the development of new products and features.
Collaborate with finance, operations, and other internal teams to ensure efficient sales processes and customer fulfillment.
Qualifications:
Strong Leadership and Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, and effectively guide a national or regional sales team to achieve and exceed targets.
Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to develop and implement effective, data-driven sales strategies that align with overall business objectives.
Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact and build rapport with sales teams, customers, and internal stakeholders at all levels.
Proven Sales Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in sales roles, with a significant track record of success in national or regional sales management. Experience in telecom is highly preferred.
Strong Negotiation Skills: Demonstrated ability to effectively negotiate and close deals, build strong and lasting customer relationships, and resolve potential conflicts.
Analytical Skills: Proficient in analyzing sales data, identifying trends, drawing actionable insights, and making data-informed strategic decisions.
Knowledge of Sales Management and CRM Systems: Deep understanding of sales processes, methodologies, and best practices. Familiarity and proficiency in utilizing CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and other sales management tools for reporting and analysis.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field is a plus.
Sales experience within Telecom Industry preferred.
