Position Overview:

Our client is looking for a dynamic and results-driven VP of Business Development Data Center Construction Services with a proven track record focusing on sales to drive revenue growth and expand their client base. The ideal candidate will identify new business opportunities, cultivate relationships with prospects, and close deals to achieve sales targets. The VP of Business Development Data Center Services will drive the company’s growth strategy and build long-term client partnerships. This position requires experience selling Construction Oversight Services/Owner Representation to Data Center Clients, Data Center Auditing Services, and/or Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Services. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prospecting and Lead Generation:
  • Identify and research potential clients in targeted industries and geographic regions.
  • Generate leads through outbound prospecting efforts, including cold calling, email outreach, and networking events.
  • Utilize market research and competitive analysis to identify key decision-makers and understand their business needs.
  1. Sales Strategy and Pipeline Management:
  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to achieve revenue targets and expand market share.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline by qualifying leads, nurturing relationships, and advancing opportunities through the sales cycle.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, operations, and technical support, to ensure alignment of sales efforts with company objectives.
  1. Consultative Selling and Solution Development:
  • Conduct needs assessments and solution consultations with prospects to understand their data center requirements and pain points.
  • Customize and present data center solutions tailored to each client’s needs and objectives.
  • Articulate the value proposition of our services and differentiate our offerings from competitors in the marketplace.
  1. Negotiation and Closing:
  • Prepare and deliver proposals, contracts, and pricing agreements according to company policies and guidelines.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with clients to reach mutually beneficial agreements and close sales.
  • Manage contract negotiations, address objections, and overcome obstacles to secure client commitments.
  1. Customer Relationship Management:
  • Cultivate strong relationships with existing clients to foster loyalty, encourage repeat business, and generate referrals.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing ongoing support, guidance, and strategic recommendations to maximize the value of their data center investments.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive developments to anticipate client needs and position our services effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. Relevant Experience outweighs a college degree.
  • Proven track record of success in B2B sales, focusing on selling data center construction services, cloud solutions, or IT infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of data center technologies, including colocation, cloud hosting, network, and managed services.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strategic thinker who can develop and execute sales strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Results-oriented with a demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets and drive revenue growth.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, passionate about building relationships and closing deals.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing market conditions.
